German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anušić announced on Monday that Croatia would deliver a series of armored vehicles and tanks to Ukraine, with Germany set to provide up to 50 Leopard 2A8 tanks in return.

The agreement was unveiled during Anušić’s visit to Berlin’s Bendlerblock.

The ministers outlined plans for Croatia to deliver an initial tranche of 30 battle tanks and 30 Soviet-designed infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, complete with necessary spare parts and ammunition. Germany will financially support the delivery, and both countries committed to further cooperation through a joint procurement of the Leopard 2A8 battle tank.

Delivery of the equipment is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
