Aselsan’s Gökberk mobile laser weapon system detected, tracked, and destroyed FPV drones during recent tests.

The system, developed for Türkiye’s Steel Dome air defense program, uses a high-energy laser and an electronic jammer to neutralize mini and micro UAVs. During trials, Gökberk demonstrated rapid engagement times and high-precision targeting across multiple scenarios.

Gökberk integrates Aselsan’s İHTAR platform with a 6x6 mobile deployment system, offering both hard kill and soft kill capabilities. The system uses artificial intelligence to enhance tracking and identification and operates continuously with a specialized cooling system.

Developed domestically with contributions from TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, Gökberk is intended to protect critical infrastructure such as military bases, airports, and power plants. Data from ongoing tests under different weather conditions is being used to refine the system further.
