Russian forces have struck Ukrainian military airfields and unmanned boat hubs in 162 locations, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on May 1.
The strikes were carried out by tactical aircraft, drones, missile forces, and artillery units, targeting drone production sites and temporary bases of Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters.
According to the ministry, Russian air defense systems intercepted six U.S.-made JDAM smart bombs and 137 Ukrainian drones in the past 24 hours. The report included a breakdown of the military action across various regions.
In the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russia’s Battlegroup Center hit Ukrainian mechanized, jaeger, drone, and National Guard units near Mirolyubovka, Zverevo, and Krasnoarmeisk. Over 445 Ukrainian troops were reportedly killed, and Ukraine lost two armored vehicles—including a U.S.-made HMMWV—and two artillery systems.
In the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, Battlegroup Dnepr engaged Ukrainian mechanized and coastal guard brigades near Novodanilovka, Kamenskoye, and Antonovka, resulting in up to 100 Ukrainian troop losses. The strikes also destroyed two ammunition depots and multiple vehicles.
Battlegroup East reported progress in its operations near Bogatyr and Gulyaipole, where around 195 Ukrainian troops were killed. The group also destroyed armored personnel carriers, ten vehicles, and a German-made 155 mm Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzer.
Battlegroup South, operating in the Donetsk area, targeted five Ukrainian mechanized brigades and the Azov Special Operations Brigade, which is banned in Russia. Fighting was reported near Serebryanka, Dyleyevka, and Konstantinovka.
In the Kharkov region, Battlegroup West claimed to have eliminated more than 225 Ukrainian troops near Kolodeznoye and Kupyansk. The group also destroyed two electronic warfare systems, an Israeli-made RADA radar, and two ammunition depots.
Meanwhile, Battlegroup North struck Ukrainian tank and air assault brigades near Yunakovka and Izbitskoye in the Sumy and Kharkov regions, reportedly killing over 170 troops and destroying two armored vehicles and ten artillery systems.
The Russian Defense Ministry provided cumulative figures since the start of the conflict, stating that 54,630 drones, 23,101 tanks and armored vehicles, and 24,350 field artillery systems have been destroyed.
There was no independent verification of these claims, and Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the latest Russian statements.
