EDGE Group and Leonardo have announced plans to establish a joint venture (JV) in Abu Dhabi, forming a new technology hub designed to serve both regional and global defence markets.
The agreement was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed during a recent meeting in the United Arab Emirates capital.
According to both companies, the new JV will be a central pillar in their growing partnership and will enable advanced defence collaboration across several domains. It will focus on technologies including naval command and control (C2) systems, combat systems for ballistic missile defence, counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), and airborne capabilities for maritime multi-mission aircraft (MMA).
Additional areas of collaboration will include electro-optics (optronics), air defence systems, and high-performance computing (HPC) electronics for missile-related applications.
