Lithuania has chosen three C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft from Brazil’s Embraer, the company confirmed.
Announced at the Paris Air Show on May 18, the decision launches a formal procurement process under national regulations. Contract talks are expected in the coming months.
The C-390s will operate alongside Lithuania’s existing fleet of C-27J Spartans, expanding the country’s tactical airlift and mission capabilities.
The agreement will include industrial cooperation, enabling local maintenance and potential component production.
Embraer noted that Lithuania joins other European and NATO operators of the C-390, including Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Slovakia.
The C-390 is a twin-engine, medium-range jet capable of transporting up to 23 tons at speeds of 870 km/h. It supports multiple missions including troop and cargo transport, medevac, aerial refueling, and search and rescue.
