Argentina has signed an agreement with Danish firm Terma to upgrade the electronic warfare systems of 24 F-16 fighter jets acquired from Denmark.
Defense Minister Luis Petri signed the deal during an official visit to Denmark, where he also oversaw preparations of the first six F-16s set to arrive in Argentina this December.
“Each F-16 that will arrive in December sends a clear message: we’ve decided to recover national defense and modernize our Armed Forces,” Petri said.
The deal covers software and hardware improvements, mission planning tools, ground support gear, and technical assistance.
Petri also signed a defense cooperation memorandum with Danish Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and announced plans to open a Defense Attaché Office in Denmark.
