Swedish defence tech startup Nordic Air Defence (NAD) has raised an additional $3 million, expanding its pre-seed funding round to a total of $4.4 million.
According to Nordic Air Defence, the round led by venture capital firm Inflection is now one of the largest pre-seed rounds in the defence tech sector.
As NAD enters a crucial phase of growth, the company has strengthened its engineering team with key hires from leading tech firms such as Anduril, Einride, and FLIR, while also making strategic changes to its board.
These additions reflect NAD’s ability to attract top talent and support its mission to deliver homegrown drone defence technology, helping reduce Europe’s reliance on U.S. and global supply chains.
NAD emerged from stealth in September 2024 with its flagship product, the Kreuger 100 a lightweight, battery powered drone interceptor for civilian and military use. By replacing costly hardware with software, the Kreuger 100 is ten times cheaper per unit than traditional systems and is designed for scalability and rapid deployment.
