Iran Recruited Israeli Spies to Get "Precise Coordinates" of IDF Targets

Iran has claimed it neutralized a wide-ranging hybrid warfare operation involving Israeli intelligence and Western-backed networks between June 13 and June 24, accusing foreign powers of espionage, sabotage, and plans for regime change.

According to a statement by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence, one of the central operations involved recruiting spies from inside Israel’s security establishment to leak “precise coordinates” of Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) facilities. The leaked information reportedly included top-secret details related to nuclear infrastructure, weapons sites, and research laboratories. These coordinates were allegedly provided to Iranian armed forces during and after the recent 12-Day war.

The ministry said 20 Mossad-linked agents were arrested inside Iran, adding that this espionage activity was part of broader Israeli efforts in the occupied Palestinian territories. Iranian officials claimed these agents were in possession of classified nuclear documents and maintained contact with Iran through encrypted channels.

Iranian authorities also claimed that the operation included a U.S.-Israeli plot to overthrow the Iranian government and install a puppet regime tied to the exiled Pahlavi royal family and “fanatical Zionist elements of Iranian origin.” This plot, according to the ministry, included planned bombings in Tehran timed with the Evin prison strike, and coordinated efforts to spread unrest through digital currency channels such as Tether.

A total of 65 people were arrested in connection with what Tehran described as digitally funded "regime change networks." Another 53 were detained from what Iran calls a “Zionist Christianity” cell directed by Mossad.

In a broader counter-terrorism crackdown, Iran’s security forces arrested three ISIS commanders and 50 Takfiri militants, claiming to have foiled cross-border infiltration attempts by over 450 foreign fighters near the southeastern border and in Syria. Arms caches meant for separatist groups were seized in multiple provinces.

Dozens of cyber operatives running espionage and incitement channels were arrested. Iran also said it thwarted Mossad attempts to contact and intimidate citizens via foreign phone numbers.

Officials said they prevented planned economic unrest, countering hoarding, disinformation, and sabotage attempts aimed at disrupting supply chains and critical infrastructure.

Six Iranian intelligence officers were killed during these operations. The ministry credited the country’s defense to public vigilance, national unity, the Armed Forces, and the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
