U.S. Clears $861M U.K. Deal for C-17 Globemaster Support

The U.S. State Department has approved a possible $861 million foreign military sale to the United Kingdom for sustainment support of its C-17 Globemaster III aircraft fleet, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) confirmed in a notification to Congress.

The package includes contractor logistics support covering engine components, spare parts, modifications, software, documentation, and technical services. The Boeing Company has been identified as the principal contractor.

The C-17 is a long-range heavy-lift transport aircraft capable of carrying payloads of up to 45,360 kilograms (100,000 pounds) across 4,500 miles (7,242 kilometers).
