Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has unveiled its new AAP drone and a next-generation air combat system connecting land, sea, air, and space at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition 2025 (ADEX), held at Seoul Airport from October 17–19 and at KINTEX from October 20–24.
At Seoul Airport, KAI is showcasing flight demonstrations and static displays of its aircraft lineup, including the KF-21 fighter, KT-1 trainer, T-50 jet trainer, and Light Armed Helicopter (LAH). The Black Eagles aerobatic team, flying the T-50B, will perform throughout the three-day event.
At KINTEX, KAI has recreated a future battlefield to present its integrated combat concepts for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The exhibit introduces new technologies such as an AI-piloted simulator and the AAP unmanned aerial vehicle.
Divided into fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and space zones, the display highlights future combat capabilities. In the Fixed-Wing Zone, a synchronized LED projection showcases the KF-21’s flight and weapon maneuvers.
The AAP drone, revealed for the first time, can perform strike, decoy, and targeting missions to expand operational flexibility.
The Rotary-Wing Zone features the LAH helicopter and Air Launched Effects (ALE) systems—unmanned vehicles launched from helicopters for reconnaissance, decoy, and strike missions. KAI is also developing a Heliborne Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) system for field use by 2030.
In the Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Zone, visitors can engage in virtual air combat with an AI-powered pilot through the ACP simulator. The ACP, or AI Combat Pilot, is trained on diverse combat scenarios to enhance KAI’s autonomous flight technology.
The Integrated Product Support (IPS) Zone offers an AI-based immersive maintenance experience using real-time streaming and virtual reality, demonstrating next-generation lifecycle support for aircraft operations.
The Space Zone displays KAI’s upcoming medium, optical, and microsatellite models.
