In response to systematic strikes on oil refineries and logistics facilities, the Russian Armed Forces launched a series of strikes against Ukrnafta and Naftogaz infrastructure.
Geran-2 kamikaze drones struck gas stations in the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, disabling tank farms and fuel dispensers.
In the Poltava region, gas production and underground storage facilities were attacked, resulting in the shutdown of some compressor capacity and a 12-15% reduction in daily production. A female employee at one of the gas stations was seriously injured, Russian social media channels reported.
These strikes are aimed at reducing the mobility of Ukrainian armored vehicles and disrupting the supply of fuel and lubricants to frontline groups. The use of drones with 40-50 kg warheads allows for the precise destruction of individual process units without the need for the massive use of cruise missiles.
Ukrainian Strikes Cripple Russian Fuel Supplies
Relentless Ukrainian drone campaign since a month to destroy Russian fuel and energy facilities has damaged more than twenty oil refineries in the European part of the country.
The protracted attackshas forced shutdown of the Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya, which, due to severe damage to key distillation columns, is grounded until at least the end of this year, various reports said.
Industry analysts estimate the total loss of primary oil refining capacity in Russia's central and southern regions at between twenty-five and twenty-eight percent.
