The U.S. Central Command said Sunday that 2 US troops are killed, one missing and 4 rushed to hospital as Iranian missiles rained down on the the Muwaffaq Salti Air base in Jordan on the night of July 16-17 where 10s of warplanes and oseveral hundred troops are located.
Iran’s IRGC on Saturday reported several American deaths after its attack on the Jordan base with long range ballistic missiles.
In addition, an Iranian attack completely destroyed the U.S. Army’s Tanef base in Syria said to be a special operations command center. Iranian media has claimed that dozens of American special forces soldiers are either killed or wounded at this military base.
Western experts are surprised at the way Iranian missile are able to manoeuvre around US Patriot and THAAD anti-missile interceptors.The facility in Jordan is said to be protected by a string of Patriot batteries that fired 10s of interceptors but few were able to hit Iranian missiles..
Iran is said to be using third-generation Beidou targeting. Beidou is the global positioning satellite system, the Chinese replacement for GPS. And the West has expressed surprise, shock, and alarm over the accuracy of the Iranian missiles.
US launches revenge attacks against IRGC for Jordan base attack:
During the eighth consecutive night of U.S strikes, CENTCOM forces successfully hit Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities. American military assets also targeted Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces that launched attacks against U.S. service members in Jordan on July 17, CENTCOM said on X
US bombs water desalination plant depriving 10,000 civilians of clean water
Iran’s Tasnim New said on Sunday that a US missile wrecked the desalination pumps of the Hormozgan Water Company.
A member of the Iranian Parliament representing Jask, Abdolkarim Hashemi, said in an interview with Tasnim that the US targeted the ‘Monji Jask’ desalination facility in Hormozgan Province on Friday night.
He said the facility is responsible for supplying drinking water to western parts of Jask, and the attack caused major disruptions to water services for approximately 30 villages in the area.
The Iranian lawmaker described the targeting of civilian infrastructure as "anti-human" and contrary to both humanitarian principles and international law. He said the US is attempting to pressure Iran and its people by attacking roads, bridges, and vital public infrastructure such as desalination plants.
