Rostec’s High-Precision Complex shipped a group of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles in volumes exceeding those of previous months and three times higher than that shown by previous indicators.
A batch of BMP-3s was transferred to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation recently as part of the implementation of the state defense order, a Rostec release said.
Due to demand from troops, the production volumes of the BMP-3 armored vehicle have increased significanty. The BMP-3 is the most popular infantry vehicle in Russia service to carry troops into conflict zones.
“This year, the BMP-3 received a number of important improvements - strengthened protection of the bottom from the explosion, as well as the armored anti-fragation resistance of the aft and front parts,"- said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the arms cluster of Rostec State Corporation.
In addition, each machine is equipped with additional protection, providing cover the hull from all projections, including from above. Installation of special devices and equipment allows to increase the mobility of the “troika” and the effectiveness of the use of its weapons.
Besides, all machines are equipped with an improved electronic warfare system.
