Volcanic ashes cloud participation in Malaysian Defense exhibition, DSA 2010

The impact of flight cancellations in Europe following the the volcanic eruption in Iceland has been felt in faraway Malaysia. Many leading exhibitors from Europe could not attend the show due to flight cancellations. Several stalls went unoccupied or had representations from local executives and a few lucky executives who managed to find a flight out of Europe before several important airport hubs in Europe such as London and Amsterdam shut down from last weekend. Informed sources said at the show that over 50 of expected individuals, representing major international exhibitors were yet to arrive by the morning of the first day on April 19. A source from a leading European ship building firms said they had only two out of 6 executives arrive till the morning of the first day. The organizers are hoping that executives of exhibiting companies would arrive at least by the evening of April 19 or the morning of April 20.
