FLIR Wins Advanced Sensors, Support Contract From U.S Army

FLIR Systems has announced that it has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Army worth $88.3 million for the procurement of Domestic Response Capability (DRC) kits for use by National Guard Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams. The DRC kit is an integrated suite of advanced sensors and support equipment for detecting and decontaminating chemical warfare agents and other emerging threats. Under the terms of the three year contract, the Army has placed an initial order for $26.9 million. Deliveries under this initial order are expected to be completed by December 2013. "This contract showcases FLIR's capability to produce integrated solutions that utilize sensors from multiple company product lines," said Earl Lewis, President and CEO of FLIR. "We are pleased to provide the Army with such an integral solution that protects our forces and the general public from threats of all types".
