Science Applications International Corporation or SAIC was awarded a $667 million contract by the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic's C5ISR SoSEI Program, for strategic and tactical platform requirements, it was announced earlier today. The program's objective is to eliminate effort duplication throughout the command and promote quality product lines through repeatable processes and variance removal.

The SAIC contract will place integration functions into one integration production process in a government facility and provide technical support to provide systems engineering, testing, large-scale fabrication, non-developmental item procurement, interim repair, maintenance services, and training. Programs such as the Common Submarine Radio Room, Tactical Operations Inter-communications Network, Naval Tactical Command Support System, and deployable mission modules will be supported.

Jim Thigpen, SAIC Sr. VP, said, "The company’s large-scale integration and systems engineering expertise, will ensure that technological solutions are provided to SSC Atlantic that will help deliver platforms more rapidly to the warfighter".

The single-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a one-year performance base period will be performed at the Charleston, S.C. and Norfolk, Va. facilities.
