Electric Boat Wins $520 million Virginia-Class Submarine Lead Items Contract

Electric Boat, division of General Dynamics, has won a $520 million contract for additional long lead time material for the Virginia-class submarines.

This contract modification provides additional long lead time material for steam and electric plant components, the main propulsion unit efforts and ship service turbine generator efforts, steel and miscellaneous hull, mechanical and electrical system components.

Work is expected to be complete by January 2015.
