Meggitt To Supply Ammunition Handling Systems For British Army's Scout Vehicles

Meggitt Defense Systems has won a $42.1 million contract from Lockheed Martin to supply ammunition handling systems for Scout armored vehicles operated by the British army.

The systems, designed to rapidly feed 40 mm ammunition rounds into cannons, will be designed and manufactured at Meggitt's facility in Irvine, CA, with delivery running from 2016 to 2021.

The company also announced that it has bagged $15.8 million in contracts from the UK Ministry of Defence to upgrade British Army small-arms training systems called Dismounted Close Combat Trainers.
