Harris Corporation has won a contract to provide electronic warfare (EW) equipment, spares and support services for Turkish Air Force’s F-16 fighter jets.
The contract was issued by the US Air Force Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.
Harris will supply 21 of its AN/ALQ-211 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite (AIDEWS) pod systems to protect the Turkish Air Force’s F-16 fighter jets from evolving electronic threats. The agreement also includes maintenance support equipment, spares, and engineering support.
“The Harris AIDEWS pod takes sophisticated electronic protection for agile platforms like the F-16 to new levels of performance and flexibility,” said Rich Sorelle, President, Harris Electronic Warfare Systems business unit. “The pod’s design allows F-16 users to move EW capabilities among their fleets to increase overall aircraft availability”.
