China To Debut KJ-500 AEW&C, HQ-9 Surface-to-air Missile At Aviation Open Day
Chinese KJ-500 Airborne Early Warning and Control System

China will hold a first public display of KJ-500 airborne early warning and control (AEW&C), HQ-9 Surface-to-air missile at an aviation open Day to be held from September one in Changchun, northeast China’s Jilin Province. 

Over 30 types of equipment will be open to the public. More than 40 sets of equipment including H-6K bomber, KJ-500 Airborne Early Warning and Control System aircraft, HQ-9 surface-to-air missile system and airborne infantry fighting vehicle will participate in the static display, the organizer of the PLA Air Force Aviation Open Day said Tuesday at a press conference in the country.

The event intends to demonstrate the PLA Air Force achievements in transformation, effectively enhance the public awareness and responsibility of aerospace safety, and inspire the society to support the construction of the PLA Air Force, China Military Online reported Wednesday.

The Bayi Aerobatic Team, Bayi Parachute Team and four flight demonstration teams of the PLA Air Force’s Aviation University will perform during the PLA Air Force Aviation Open Day which starts on September one.

The two-day activity is open to visitors from across the country.
