Portuguese ministry of national defense has granted permission to acquire 35 medium armored tactical vehicles and 12 medium unprotected tactical vehicles to strengthen the army’s tactical information and communications system.
The vehicles to be acquired were identified as essential for the construction of command and ground control capability, providing the Army's tactical information and communications system with a degree of ground tactical mobility and light armored protection, the ministry announced Monday.
The acquisition of these 47 vehicles is a project to execute until 2023, and cannot exceed the amount established in the Military Program Law.
