Turkey will equip domestically produced long-range, anti-tank missile UMTAS and laser guided UMTAS on their ATAK helicopters.

The missiles manufactured by Rocketsan will be used on helicopters manufactured by Turkey.

UMTAS can hit targets five kilometers away with full precision. ATAK copters have been utilized by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) since June 10 of 2014, and 16 of them are currently in use, Yeni Safak reported Wednesday.

The Turkish military is planning to increase its fleet of helicopters from 16 to 35.
