Australian arms supplier NIOA has delivered its first LVS2 Next Generation Fire Control Simulation Training System for MK47 Light Weight Automatic Grenade Launcher to the Australian Army.

The Lightweight Video Sight (LVS2) system provides an advanced, virtual reality training solution that is compact, easily transportable and deployable, providing low cost, but highly effective, training for Defence. The system was a joint project, developed by NIOA, General Dynamics and Saab Australia, the company said in a statement Friday.

The system was delivered directly to the Australian Army's School of Infantry to enable immediate implementation of training and evaluation for Australian soldiers and airmen on the new Light Weight Automatic Grenade Launcher capability.

Under the LAND 40 Phase 2 project, NIOA is delivering the MK47 40mm Automatic Lightweight Grenade Launcher, fitted with the LVS2 system. The advanced LVS2 provides a new level of capability for light weapon sighting systems with integrated colour video and thermal imaging.

NIOA is Australia's largest privately-owned supplier of small arms, direct fire and medium-calibre weapons and ancillary equipment to the commercial, law enforcement and defence markets.
