US Firm Awarded $65M Aircraft Maintenance Contract For Taiwan’s F-16s

The Pentagon has awarded the US firm URS Federal Services Inc. with a $65 million contract to provide aircraft maintenance for Taiwan Air Force’s F-16 Fighting Falcon jets.

“URS Federal Services Inc., Germantown, Maryland, has been awarded a $65,000,000 firm-fixed-price and indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for F-16 aircraft maintenance for the Taiwan Air Force,” the US Department of Defense announced Monday.

Work will be performed at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, and is expected to be complete by July 31, 2023, the statement added.

Taiwan operates a fleet of 143 US —built and supplied F-16As that are currently being upgraded to the F-16V. The aircraft first entered operational service with the US Air Force in 1978.
