Yemen’s force has shot down an F15 fighter jet that was taking part in the bombing campaign of Saudi-led coalition.
Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network quoted a local military official as saying that the Air Defense Force in the Yemeni army are backed by allied fighters from Popular Committees, shot down an F15 warplane of the Saudi-led aggression.
The warplane was shot down in Najran, a city in South Western Saudi, after being targeted by Yemeni forces positioned in the northern town of Saada, Almanar Tv reported Saturday.
On Friday, Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah rebels claimed that it had fired a long-range ballistic missile toward the Saudi capital Riyadh, in the wake of US President Donald Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia, but the claim could not be confirmed.
Earlier in February 24, another F16 warplane taking part in the Saudi-led aggression was downed in Najran. Similarly an Apache helicopter was downed in the same front in December 29, 2016, the report said.
However, there was no confirmation or denial of this reported shooting down of an F-15 jet from the Saudis.
