UMS Skelder unmanned technology solutions, a venture between UMS AERO Group and Saab, will launch its unmanned helicopter SKELDAR V-200 VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) at the Paris Airshow 2017.
It is the only heavy fuel UAS (unmanned aerial system) on the market, at the upcoming 52nd Paris International Airshow, the company announced Wednesday.
David Willems, Head of Business Development, UMS SKELDAR explains, “Our mission is to create the most compelling VTOL solution across military and civilian markets.
The NATO compliant SKELDAR V-200, powered by Saab technology, with its ability to run on heavy fuel has carved a role as the suitable platform for maritime and naval operations as well as military and civilian activities.
The strategic focus on deployment in chosen markets will enable the company to ramp up production from its facilities in Switzerland and Sweden.
The platform is multi-role and capable of performing reconnaissance,identification, target acquisition and electronic warfare.
Additionally, the system is deployable with a number of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) high resolution EO/IR, SAR and EW sensors, in addition to a range of training packages. It is expected that major announcements on payload integration will also be made at Paris.
