Kalashnikov To Begin Production Of Combat Module Using Neural Network Technologies

The Kalashnikov Concern is likely to begin serial production of a new combat module using NeuroNet by next year, TASS reports.

NeuroNet is an artificial neural networks, which allows the module to identify targets, learn and make decisions on its own.

"Presentation of this module is due also at the Army-2017 forum," the company's Director General Alexei Krivoruchko said in an interview with TASS on Saturday. "We cannot demonstrate openly everything, but I can assure you that the technology is used successfully."

"The module may be installed on any equipment," he continued. "We hope, next year the serial production will begin already."

Earlier, the concern's head of communications Sofia Ivanova told TASS that the Kalashnikov had designed a fully automatic combat module using neural network technologies, and very soon the concern would present a product line based on neural networks.

Artificial neural networks are computing systems inspired by biological neural networks, e. g. actual brains. These artificial systems are able to learn and operate using previous experience. It is a quickly learning system, which may act not only in accordance with an initial algorithm, but also using the acquired experience.
