AM General Wins $2.2B to Produce 11,560 HMMWVs Under FMS Contract

AM General has been awarded a $2.2 billion contract for the production of up to 11,560 High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle expanded capacity vehicles.

The contract also includes associated optional equipment and contractor-unique spare parts packages for foreign military sales customers worldwide, which will be identified with each order, with the first order being for Afghanistan, US Department of Defense said in a statement Tuesday.

Work is expected to be completed by Feb. 28, 2023.

"The HMMWV continues to be the most sought after light tactical vehicle for military and government customers around the world demonstrating its relevance and reliability while ensuring readiness at an affordable price for the US, our allies and coalition partners," said AM General President and CEO, Andy Hove said in a statement.
