Peruvian Airlines plans to buy 10 MC-21 medium haul planes for a proposed new airline marking the first international order for Russia's medium-haul jetliner.
Russia’s Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA) and Peruvian Airlines signed an agreement of intent to purchase 10 SSJ-100, 100-seater planes and 10 MC-21 medium haul passenger jets at the Farnborough Air Show on Monday.
Peruvian Airlines plans to set up a subsidiary to operate SSJ-100 passenger jets, Chief Executive of the airline Cesar Catano told TASS.
"It will be a subsidiary named Aero Peru," Catano said. "It is planned to be established in 2020s," he added.
SSJ-100 is a regional passenger jet now in service in Russia, Mexico and Ireland. MC-21 is the medium-range airplane under development, with first supplies scheduled to 2019.
