Atlas Elektronik, a subsidiary of Hagenuk Marinekommunikation (HMK) has won a contract to supply integrated communication systems for units 6 to 10 of the Type K130 corvettes for the German navy.

The ‘ARGE K130 2 batch’ consortium commissioned HMK to supply radios of the complete telecommunications spectrum from 10 kHz to 20 GHz, which enable information to be exchanged with other ships, boats or shore stations via special input devices in the form of voice and data radio, MarineLink reported Monday.

The K130 consortium (ARGE K130) is an alliance of the Lürssen shipyard (Lürssen Werft GmbH & Co. KG) as the leading company, thyssenkrupp Marine Systems GmbH and German Naval Yards Kiel GmbH. At the end of last year, they had jointly signed the contract for the construction of five further corvettes of the Type K130 with the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw).
