Raytheon Wins $1.5 Billion to Supply PATRIOT Missile Defense Systems to Poland

Raytheon has won $1.5 billion modification contract to supply Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target (PATRIOT) to Poland.

Work is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2022, the United States department of defense said in a statement Tuesday.

On March 28 this year, the Polish government signed an agreement with the US government to buy the Patriot system.

Under the agreement, Raytheon will transfer Patriot technology as permitted by US law. Then it will work with Polish defense companies as they learn to build key parts of one of the world’s most sophisticated defensive systems.

This LOA is for Phase I of “WISLA,” Poland’s two-phase, medium-range, integrated air and missile defense procurement. Poland has stated it intends to acquire additional Patriot fire units, gallium nitride-based, 360-degree Active Electronically Scanning Array Radars, and SkyCeptor, a low-cost interceptor missile, under Phase II.
