General Atomics Wins $441M For US Army Gray Eagle UAS Support
General Atomics has awarded a $441 million worth contract to provide technical services for the US Army’s Gray Eagle Unmanned Aircraft Systems, the Department of defense announced Friday.
"General Atomics, Poway, California, was awarded a $441,634,278 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for procurement of technical services for U.S. Army Gray Eagle Unmanned Aircraft Systems," the release said.
Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2023, the release added.
The General Atomics Gray Eagle UAS is based on the Predator unmanned aircraft and can carry multiple payloads such as electro-optical/infrared systems with laser designation technology, synthetic aperture radars, communications relay platforms and Hellfire missiles for reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition missions as well as attack operations.
