Irkut Corporation has delivered the fuselage of the MC-21-300 aircraft to the Ramenskoye airfield (Zhukovsky) to conduct fatigue and operational tests of the fuselage.
Life test of aircraft are conducted to confirm the design decisions in terms of fatigue strength and operational survivability. During the tests, the glider will be subjected to multiple loads simulating at least 180 thousand flights, the company said in a statement Monday.
The Irkut MC-21 is a Russian single-aisle twinjet airliner. Currently, two MS-21-300 aircraft are undergoing flight certification tests.
