General Electric is awarded $70 million modification contract for the procurement of 16 F414-GE-400 install engines for the F/A-18 aircraft for the United States Navy.

Work is expected to be completed by December 2020, the US department of defense said in a statement Friday.

F414-GE-400 engines also power Boeing’s EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft, also operational with the United States Navy. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
