Raytheon Wins $88.4M US Navy Contract For F/A-18/EA-18G Sensor Systems Upgrade

The US Navy has awarded a $88.4 million worth contract for the modification and upgrade of the sensor system software and hardware for the F/A-18E/F Super Hornets and EA-18G Growler aircraft, the Department of defense announced Monday.

The release said “an $88,443,303 cost-plus-fixed-fee indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is to incorporate updates, improvements, and enhancements of tactical capabilities” onto the Navy aircraft.

Services to be provided include technical support for hardware and software anomaly investigation, design, development, documentation, integration, test, and evaluation of systems and support equipment, the release said.

Work will be performed in El Segundo, California, and is expected to be completed in February 2024, it added.

The Growler is a derivative of the combat-proven two-seat F/A-18 Hornet, the US Navy’s maritime strike aircraft.
