Raytheon To Supply US Navy With Multi-spectral Targeting Systems For MQ-4C Drone

Raytheon has won a $16 million contract to supply 7 Multi-spectral Targeting Systems “B” AN/DAS-3 to be fitted onto the MQ-4C drone.

The Multi-spectral Targeting Systems (MTS) “B” AN/DAS-3 are in support of the Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP 3 and 4) efforts of the MQ-4C Triton Program, the US Department of Defense said in a statement Thursday.

Raytheon MTS is a turreted electro-optical/ infrared (EO/IR) sensor used in maritime and overland intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. It provides EO/IR, laser designation, and laser illumination capabilities integrated in a single sensor package. MTS sensors feature multiple fields of view, electronic zoom and multimode video tracking. 

The MTS product family of sensors includes Compact MTS, MTS-A, MTS-B, MTS-C and MTS-D (AN/DAS-4). It has been integrated onto various platforms like the MH-60 Blackhawk, the C-130 Hercules, the MQ-9C Reaper, the MQ-1 Predator, and the MQ-1C Gray Eagle.

Work is expected to be complete by July 2021.
