The US Army has awarded Boeing a $145.9 million modification contract for Netherland’s Longbow Crew Trainers, which is the centerpiece of Boeing’s AH-64 Apache training.
“The Boeing Co., Mesa, Arizona, was awarded a $145.9 million modification to Foreign Military Sales (Netherlands) contract for the remanufacture of 11 aircraft and new build Longbow Crew Trainer and spares,” the US Department of Defense said in a statement Wednesday.
The Longbow Crew Trainer is used by pilots and other personnel to practice aircraft procedures and rehearse missions. It is containerized and deployable, allowing in-theater training under a wide range of conditions, according to the company.
Work will be performed in Mesa, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of March 29, 2024.
