ATK awarded $90 million contract for Trident II solid rocket propulsion systems

MINNEAPOLIS --- Alliant Techsystems has received a $90 million contract from Lockheed Martin to produce solid rocket propulsion systems for all three stages of the U.S. Navy's Trident II (D-5) Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM). Under terms of the annual contract, ATK will continue to supply Trident solid rocket propulsion systems to the Trident II (D-5) Missile System Prime Contractor, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, Sunnyvale, Calif., through 2011. "ATK is pleased to support Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Navy on this critical program and looks forward to continued success on this joint effort," said Blake Larson, president of ATK Space Systems.
