French DGA Receives SCORPION Combat Information System

The French General Directorate of Armaments (DGA) received the first operational version of the combat information system for the SCORPION program (SICS) developed by French firm, Atos.

Its deployment is planned before the summer following the success of the operational assessments of the Army.

SICS is the unique information system of the Scorpion program, which enables the digital transformation of the Army's contact combat capabilities.  All the weapon systems that make up SCORPION are also fully connected; thanks to SICS, they natively share combat information.

The SICS will continue its developments to gradually provide new functionalities and extend the SCORPION collaborative combat, while taking into account operational feedback.

The delivery of the SICS launches the era of collaborative land combat for the French Army: All the systems developed under the SCORPION program such as the new Griffon, Jaguar and Serval armored vehicles, are fully digitized and connected, and instantly share combat information as well as the geolocation of friendly forces with a near real-time view of all units.

This functionality makes it possible to monitor the tactical situation on the battlefield and to conduct operations at the level of combined arms battle groups. SICS will bring real operational superiority to French land forces.

The SCORPION program

The SCORPION program (synergy of contact reinforced by versatility and information enhancement), aims to transform air-land contact combat capabilities by strengthening its tactical interoperability and operational aptitude.

It includes seven operations: three new armored vehicles (Griffon, Jaguar and Serval), the renovation of the Leclerc tank, the Mortier embarked for contact support (MEPAC), the SICS information system and an operational readiness system.
