Syrian Volunteers en masse Sign up to Fight for Russia in Ukraine

Thousands of Syrians wearing camouflage uniforms and holding weapons in their hands have sided with the Russian troops as they take on Ukraine.

Rallies are taking place in support of Moscow all over Syria. Soldiers can be seen holding banners with the letter “Z” and images of Vladimir Putin captioned “Russia is in our hearts!” and “The Great Russian Army! We will defeat the Nazis!" Russian MoD-owned Zvezda reported.

Syria began recruiting volunteers to participate in the Russian special operation. Men come to the reception point, fill out questionnaires and sign. In addition to the machine gun, each volunteer is given a large backpack with equipment and body armor, the report.

They decided to organize a recording of volunteers after citizens began to massively express their desire to go to the aid of Russia with weapons in their hands. A whole wave of patriots poured into the military enlistment offices and assembly points. Almost all of them have solid combat experience behind them. Many continue to serve, but by agreement between the governments of the two countries, they are allowed to temporarily go to the zone of the special operation.
