U.S. Oks Sale of JLTV Heavy Gun Carriers to Romania

The U.S. State Department has approved the sale of 95 Heavy Gun Carriers Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) and related equipment to Romania for an estimated cost of $104.0 million.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The original FMS case, valued at $43.73 million, included 34 Heavy Gun Carriers JLTVs. Therefore, this notification is for a total of 129 M1278A1 Heavy Gun Carriers Joint Light Tactical Vehicles.

The principal contractors will be Oshkosh Corporation, Oshkosh, WI; and Oshkosh Defense, LLC, Oshkosh, WI.
