Taiwan to Buy U.S.-made 30mm Ammunition for Home-made Armored Vehicle
CM-34 Clouded Leopard 8x8 Taiwan Infantry Fighting Vehicle

The U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in the United States of 30 mm Ammunition and related equipment for an estimated cost of $332.2 million.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The proposed sale will contribute to the sustainment of the recipient’s CM34 Armored Vehicles, enhancing its ability to meet current and future threats. This ammunition will contribute to the recipient’s goal of maintaining its military capability while further enhancing interoperability with the United States, the DSCA said in a release.

The principal contractor for the AB44 ammunition will be Alliant Techsystems Operations LLC, Plymouth, MN. The principal contractor for the AB51 and AA90 ammunition will be General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems – Simuni, Marion, IL.
