Safran Landing Systems will design and develop the fully integrated landing system for the U.S. Army’s Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) project.

The U.S. Army announced its selection of Bell at the end of 2022, with Safran's announcement coming today.

The FLRAA program's objective is to replace the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter for missions like air assault, medical evacuation, and logistics support. In December 2022, the Army chose the Bell Textron V-280 Valor tiltrotor aircraft as a key component of the program, with Bell partnering with Safran Landing Systems.

The V-280 Valor boasts a top speed of 280 knots, a range exceeding 500 nautical miles, and the ability to carry 14 troops or 10,000 pounds of cargo.
