Israel signed a deal with Finland to sell the “"David's Sling" Missile Defense System valued at Euro 317 Million ($339M).
Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Eyal Zamir, signed an agreement for the sale of the David's Sling system to Finland. The agreement is valued at approximately 317 million EUR, the Israeli MoD announced on its Facebook page.
The signing event held at the Israel Ministry of Defense Headquarters was attended by the Ambassador of Finland to Israel, H.E. Dr. Nina Nordström besides the Finnish Defence Attaché to Israel, Col. Oula Asteljoki.
The David's Sling is meant to intercep ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft and drones.
The system has demonstrated high-performance capabilities in the ongoing war (in Gaza) in a range of challenging scenarios, the Israeli MoD said.
The David's Sling system is jointly developed by the IMDO within the Israel Ministry of Defense's DDR&D and the United States Missile Defense Agency (MDA) together with primary contractor Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
The David’s Sling interceptor (Stunner/ SkyCeptor ) delivers superior kinematics, maneuverability and lethality by combining novel innovative steering control, multi-pulse propulsion and a next-generation seeker into a lightweight airframe, according to Rafael Advanced Systems.
