New Imaging Sensor Service Center Opens in Abu Dhabi Through EDGE-L3Harris Collaboration

EDGE Group and L3Harris Technologies have inaugurated a new WESCAM Authorized Service Center (WASC) at EARTH’s Electro-Optical Centre of Excellence (EOCE) Facility in Abu Dhabi, in a collaboration that aims to provide maintenance and support for WESCAM MXTM-Series EO/IR systems.

The 33,000-square-foot facility, managed and operated by locally-trained U.A.E. nationals, boasts advanced equipment for servicing the imaging and targeting sensor systems.

The WASC is expected to contribute to the enhancement of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) for defense and national security. The collaboration aims to benefit from L3Harris’ technological capabilities and EDGE’s experience in mission execution readiness. The facility is intended to improve operational availability, reduce maintenance and repair turnaround time, and enhance mean time between failures (MTBF) for WESCAM MXTM-Series EO/IR systems used by the UAE’s National Security, Armed Forces, and other regional clients.

The facility will operate within EARTH’s Electro-Optical Centre of Excellence (EOCE), positioning itself as one of the EO/IR imaging and targeting sensor systems service facilities.
