Teledyne FLIR Announces New Neutrino SX8-ISR 35-700 Mid-Wave IR Imaging Module
Neutrino SX8-ISR 35-700

Teledyne FLIR, a division of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, has unveiled its newest mid-wave infrared (MWIR) imaging module, the Neutrino SX8-ISR 35-700.

The model, notable for being ITAR-free, combines a high-resolution 1280x1024 camera module with a continuous zoom (CZ) lens, aimed at integrators developing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems.

The module supports various connectivity options including Gigabit Ethernet (GigE), Camera Link, and RS232/422, facilitating faster data transfer and integration into networked ISR, perimeter security, border surveillance, and counter-UAS (CUAS) systems.

The imaging module is equipped with AgileCore imaging electronics interface and Teledyne FLIR's AVP, an advanced video processor leveraging the latest Qualcomm QCS8550. This setup enhances the module’s capability to run Prism AI software, enabling detection, classification, and target tracking. The AVP also supports Prism ISP algorithms for super resolution, image fusion, atmospheric turbulence removal, electronic stabilization, local-contrast enhancement, and noise reduction, thereby improving data accuracy and decision-making support.

Another feature of the Neutrino Ground ISR series is its long-life Linear Stirling cooler, boasting a mean-time-to-failure exceeding 27,000 hours, and integrated CZ optics. These optics, developed by Teledyne FLIR's New England Optical Systems (NEOS), offer a variety of focal length options to optimize detection, recognition, and identification (DRI) capabilities.

Manufactured in the USA, Neutrino Ground ISR products are classified under U.S. Department of Commerce jurisdiction as EAR 6A003.b.4.a, exempting them from International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This classification allows greater flexibility for international integration and development. Additionally, integrators can access a comprehensive software development kit (SDK), detailed documentation, integration support from Teledyne FLIR’s technical services team, and a two-year warranty.
