Teledyne FLIR Defense Secures $15M Contract for ThermoSight HISS-XLR Weapon Sights

Teledyne FLIR Defense has been awarded a $15 million contract to deliver over 150 ThermoSight HISS-XLR weapon sights to a NATO partner country.

The contract, awarded by the U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), covers the provision of parts, training, and other support services.

The ThermoSight HISS-XLR is a clip-on thermal weapon sight designed for snipers and precision shooters. It enables the detection and recognition of man-size targets at distances exceeding 2,000 meters. The HISS-XLR can be mounted on any MILSTD-1913 rail interface in front of an existing scope and is compatible with various day scopes and weapon platforms. It features long-range optics and an HD display, which provide clear imagery, and a portrait orientation that accounts for bullet drop at extreme ranges.

The manufacturing and service work for this contract will take place at FLIR Defense’s facility in Billerica, Massachusetts. Deliveries began in the spring and are scheduled to continue through 2024.
