General Atomics wins $102 million contract for CVN-78 arresting gear

General Atomics, San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $102,200,000 modification to the previously awarded Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System Ship-set undefinitized contract action to provide for the production of one advanced arresting gear system ship-set for CVN-78. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. (35 percent); Mt. Pleasant, Pa. (28 percent); Tupelo, Miss. (15 percent); Waltham, Mass. (12 percent); and Aston, Pa. (10 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
