Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), part of EDGE Group, has partnered with French firm LACROIX to integrate advanced decoy technology into its FA-400 Fast Attack vessel, enhancing the patrol ship’s coastal and territorial defense capabilities.
The agreement was formalized at the EURONAVAL 2024 Exhibition in Paris, where ADSB CEO David Massey and LACROIX COO François Moulinier signed the partnership.
EURONAVAL will continue until 8 November.
This collaboration with LACROIX equips the RABDAN FA-400—a 45-metre patrol vessel tailored for rapid response and coastal defense—with decoy technology that elevates its defensive capabilities. This addition ensures the vessel’s readiness to perform a range of missions, from military operations to search and rescue, surveillance, and patrol activities in challenging maritime settings.
François Moulinier of LACROIX highlighted the FA-400 vessel's enhanced capabilities as a result of this integration. He noted, “Working with ADSB on the FA-400 allows us to bring our advanced decoy systems to a new generation of patrol vessels, combining French innovation with UAE naval expertise. Our technology, which is already used on over 30 vessels globally, offers robust protection against complex threats, boosting defense readiness on a worldwide scale.”
The FA-400, equipped with LACROIX's decoy system, is scheduled for public display at the Naval Defence Exhibition & Conference (NAVDEX) in Abu Dhabi from 17 to 21 February 2025.
