Lockheed Martin and Fujitsu have signed a MOU for the latter to serve as a supplier of the Power Supply Line Replaceable Unit (PS LRU) used in the SPY-7 radar Subarray Suite.

This agreement builds on a 2024 MOU between the two companies, aimed at supporting Lockheed Martin’s Industrial Cooperation initiatives focused on expanding the production and long-term sustainment of solid-state radar systems within Japan.

The collaboration highlights Lockheed Martin’s commitment to strengthening Japan’s defense industrial base by growing the local defense workforce and advancing the development and support of key components for the SPY-7 radar system.

By locally manufacturing critical components for the SPY-7 radar, Japan can have complete confidence in the system’s support and sustainability for decades to come,” said Paul Lemmo, Vice President and General Manager at Lockheed Martin.

The SPY-7 radar is a next-generation solid-state radar system designed to counter modern threats with advanced detection, tracking, and engagement capabilities. Its scalable architecture enables the simultaneous tracking of multiple targets, providing a strategic advantage in complex operational environments.
